I’m still taking it all in.

What an incredible night at the Enterprise Vision Awards. A room filled with women who have built extraordinary businesses, and somehow I was there too, as one of the eight finalists in my category.

I felt honoured, proud and completely overwhelmed. There were plenty of moments when I looked around and wondered how I had ended up in such company.

Remembering the kitchen table

Idyllic began with something very personal: my own experience of perimenopausal hair loss. I started creating a hair oil at my kitchen table because I wanted to find a way to care for my changing hair.

That beginning is still such an important part of the business. Behind the name and the bottle is a woman who remembers what it felt like to be looking for answers.

Sitting at the awards, I kept coming back to that kitchen table. It is quite a feeling to see something that began so personally bring you into a room like this.

One of eight finalists

Being one of the eight finalists in my category meant a great deal to me. It gave me a chance to pause and appreciate how far Idyllic has come, and to feel proud of the work that has brought me here.

It also made me think about everyone who has encouraged me along the way. A small business grows with so much support around it, and I felt very grateful for mine.

A room full of inspiration

To be in the same room as Maxine Laceby, Karen Millen, Ruby Raut, Kerry Moore, Seemi Kamran and the incredible Coral Horn was quite something.

I am still having a “how did little old me get here?” moment.

These women have accomplished so much. I left in awe of what they have built, and with fresh encouragement for my own business. Being surrounded by that much experience, determination and ambition gives you plenty to think about on the way home.

Thank you for being part of the story

Thank you to the Enterprise Vision Awards for such a memorable evening and for bringing together so many remarkable women.

And thank you to everyone who has supported Idyllic. Whether you have bought a bottle, recommended us to someone, shared a post or offered a few kind words, I appreciate it more than you know.

I left feeling inspired, thankful and excited to keep building Idyllic. This is an evening I will remember for a very long time.
